Grant Narrative - Tech Portion

Let me start with the fact that I have never written a grant narrative before. I am posting this in the hopes that you can give me constructive feedback about what is missing or where I am offbase. Consider this from the perspective of BWP partnering with a large school district. What would we have to offer each other?

I look forward to your comments and seeing everyone on Wednesday (no, really I do. I hate the little puddle jumper plane I am flying in to DFW).

The ultimate goal of the Bluebonnet Writing Project is to ensure quality literacy instruction to students throughout our coverage area. Our plan to accomplish this is through partnerships with school districts guaranteeing on-going professional development for staff district-wide coupled with staff participation through the Summer Institute.

Professional development sessions will be designed around the district needs. On-time learning will benefit the staff as they struggle with current student population challenges. The Bluebonnet Writing Project leadership team will create the content for the training utilizing those most expert in the needed area. Professional development sessions will be video taped for future reference for district staff unable to attend as well as those needing a refresher of the content. Podcasts will also be created for download for the same reasons providing a more portable version.

This relationship between the Bluebonnet Writing Project and the school district offers both immediate and long-term benefits. The school district is guaranteed high-quality, needs-based training for staff involving literacy integration into all core areas. Follow-ups are as simple as video, podcasts, or additional scheduled training. The school district offers infrastructure allowing for the storage of content while also financial support for curriculum creation and presentation. While the training is created specifically for that school district, the current needs it is facing are no different from other area school districts who would also be interested in professional development.
